Part 1: The Quiet Trap of “I’ll Be Happy When…”

Have you ever caught yourself thinking:

“I’ll be happy when I get that promotion.”

“I’ll feel confident when I lose weight.”

“Life will finally make sense when things calm down.”

It seems harmless. Motivating, even. But this mindset quietly keeps happiness just out of reach.

The phrase “I’ll be happy when…” trains your brain to believe happiness lives in the future. And once you reach that milestone, your mind simply creates another one.

Happiness becomes conditional—and conditions never end.

What if happiness isn’t something you arrive at, but something you practice?

Try this shift: Instead of asking, “When will I feel better?” ask, “What can I appreciate right now?”

Because your life isn’t on hold. It’s happening now.
